Re: TikTok Ban
The plan for business owners going forward.
Earlier this week, business owners and influencers across the US got hit with a wakeup call.
For 12 full hours, TikTok was banned in the country.
While your favorite creators were joking about dusting off their resumes, business owners faced a hard truth: relying on just one platform is incredibly fragile.
See, there’s a big difference between being an influencer with a business and being a businessperson with influence.
As a businessperson, you can’t depend on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, or even LinkedIn to communicate with your audience.
What happens if your account gets banned?
Or worse—what if the entire platform disappears overnight?
You need a way to stay in touch with your customers and prospects that you control.
There are two main options:
Email newsletters.
Most business owners already have emails from past customers, but too many don’t take the next step: incentivizing potential customers to give theirs.
The easiest way to grow your list is by offering a free guide that solves a specific problem or fear your audience has.
Some people dismiss email, saying no one checks theirs anymore.
But here’s the reality: the people who do check email—entrepreneurs, blue-collar workers, and decision-makers—are the ones who have money to spend.
Telegram channels.
Telegram is a goldmine for direct communication, especially with a tech-savvy audience.
Here’s proof: on my own Telegram channel, I have 4,000 subscribers.
When I checked the analytics, I found that 89% of them have notifications turned on.
That means every time I post, over 3,500 phones buzz instantly.
It’s not just the reach—Telegram gives you more modalities to connect with your audience, whether it’s through text, video, or voice messages.
If you’re serious about future-proofing your business, you should have both of these systems in place.
Go build something no algorithm can take away from you.
