Trust

In its absence, great minds remain distracted.

Trust is the foundation of successful execution.

But what happens when you can’t even trust yourself?

That’s a weight that will drag you down and prevent you from ever reaching your fullest potential.

Most people struggle with self-trust because they’ve created a pattern of not following through.

They make New Year’s resolutions that fall apart by February.

They set big goals they never work towards.

It’s easy to lie to yourself when you’re distracted by everything around you.

But those of us who are present and centered recognize the truth.

We watch, silently, hoping these people gain the awareness they need.

If you want to rebuild trust with yourself, start today by forgiving yourself for everything you’ve left unfinished.

Then, begin a small habit: tell yourself you’ll do one thing today, follow through on it, and smile when you finish.

That’s how you close one loop.

Keep closing these loops, little by little, with bigger and bigger tasks.

That’s how you rebuild self-trust.

Once you trust yourself, you’ll naturally expect more from others.

You’ll see clearly when someone makes promises they don’t keep.

You’ll hold a higher standard for the people around you.

Because trust — just like anything else — starts within.

"Let everyone sweep in front of his own door, and the whole world will be clean." — Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Start with yourself. The rest will follow.
